These evenings consist of several guided meditations, a talk and discussion and are destined for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. There is no need to book, just come along to any class. Each class is self-contained.
All the classes are based on Buddhist teachings & will be led by a qualified student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
Introductory classes are designed to give a broad introduction to Buddhist meditation, ideas, and practice. The classes combine guided meditation with practical spiritual advice that you can immediately put into practice as a method for eliminating stress and other difficulties encountered in daily life.
The classes are open to those who are able to attend only occasionally, as well as to those who want to follow a systematic series of classes.
What to expect in a class
Classes begin with a simple guided meditation to reduce stress, tension, and distractions. This is followed by a teaching comprising an explanation of particular Buddhist principles and how to apply them to daily life. This is followed by a second guided meditation on the particular topic covered in the class. Then there is an opportunity for small group discussion, followed by a question and answer session with the teacher.
After the class there is a chance to enjoy some refreshments and discuss more informally with the teacher and other participants. You do not need any previous experience to attend these classes. Why not come along and see for yourself what meditation can do for you?
