Meditation is an inner technology that is
thousands of years old, yet has particular
value for us today as a technique for going within, building peace of mind and reminding
us of what is really important in life. In this
way we can find great meaning in our lives
and maybe even develop the wish to follow
the spiritual path.
At the heart of the Buddhist way of life, meditation is a method for understanding and working on our own mind in order to make our mind peaceful, clear and positive. Meditation is simple, easy and very relaxing and replenishing. Just as our body needs to rest and relax, so does our mind.
Practising Buddhist thought and meditation in daily life can bring:
- Freedom from stress, worry and frustration
- Better physical and mental health
- Improved concentration
- A positive and realistic attitude to life
- An improvement in our natural loving and compassionate nature
- More satistfaction and fulfillment in our relationships
- The confidence to become a better person
- A gradual increase in our good qualities as we progress along the spiritual path
The meditations taught at Ashoka Centre and its branches can benefit everyone, regardless of belief or experience. Please join us for a class.
