About Ashoka Centre
An Oasis of Peace
Ashoka Centre, established as a registered charity in 1997, exists to serve the people of South Devon and Cornwall. It is home to a spiritual community of around 10 people dedicated to achieving peace through following the teachings of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
Everyone is welcome into this peaceful and blessed environment. Visitors from all backgrounds come to find rest and refuge from the difficulties of busy modern life, and draw inspiration from spiritual friends.
Ongoing Buddhist meditation classes and course at Ashoka Centre offer the opportunity to discover our innate capacities for wisdom and compassion. The Buddhist practices taught here are suitable for everyone. Letting this special advice touch our hearts, we learn to become happy and to lead meaningful lives that have the power to greatly benefit others.
We also have a World Peace Cafe (serving delicious food and drinks) and a well stocked book shop. You are very welcome to visit us.
